France Bourely is explorer and photographer of the nanospace. She calls herself  a contemplative biologist.

Winner of the Honeywell International Scientific Competition, she received her doctorate in pharmaceutical studies from the university of Paris, and a master in plant biology from UC Berkeley, California.

Passionate about photography, it was at Berkeley that she first discovered the scanning electronic microscope, using it for her research into the origin of forms. Winner of a Leitz photographic prize, she has learned black & white silver printing with Fevre, the favorite developper of Cartier-Bresson. She chose to apply her scientific knowledge to the art of the invisible, a largely unexplored and beautifull territory.
